Things to see and do around Gainesville Historic District A Gainesville, founded in 1850, has a beautiful tree-lined historic district which can be enjoyed by a walking or driving tour. Over 60 unique turn of the century Victorian homes, buildings, the newly restored Santa Fe Depot, and historic churches portray Gainesville's elegant and colorful past. Olivia's, there are numerous antique shops including Memory Lane Antiques

The courthouse square is lined with unique gift and specialty shops. Visit Kinne's Jewelers, founded in 1889 and still outfitted in original floor to
ceiling mahogany showcases, Anjanett's Chocolate Cafe & Truffle Shop, Vine & Branches, Bella Matiz, Wiese's Clocks and Collectibles, and The B Hive.

housed in the 1904 Carnegie Library, only 1 block from Miss Olivia's.
Performances are Thursday through Saturday, usually in February, May,

Morton Museum of Cooke County - http://www.mortonmuseum.org/ - Housed in the 1884 city hall/fire station, the museum provides exhibits of Cooke County history which are changed quarterly. Several architectural items of historical significance from the local area are included in the structure of the building itself. Located northwest of Muenster, approximately 20 miles from Miss Olivia's. Gainesville has a fine 18-hole municipal course located 5 minutes from Miss Olivia's. Frank Buck Zoo- – Named for one of Gainesville's favorite native sons, “Bring 'em Back Alive Frank Buck. Visitors of the newly renovated zoo will enjoy a 90-minute walk around the mile-long path through the zoo which now features zebras, giraffes, bears and more. Hosts occasional Butterfield Stage performances and numerous entertainment venues.
